First time watching an international feature film in theatres and I must say it lived up to the hype. Bong Joon Ho did a wonderful job showcasing the disparity between the wealthy and poor in South Korea albeit with a comedic twist.
The comedic timing was superb the writers did an excellent job in ensuring that the characters dropped their punchlines at the perfect moment and that the jokes in the film were not hindered by the subtitles & language barrier
Character development of certain characters was executed seamlessly. The gradual change in the demeanour of Kim Ki-taek (Song Kang-ho) was interesting to see as he transitioned from a typical goofy Homer Simpson type to a solemn figure as he truly realises the extent of the situation his family is in.
A refreshing blend of humour adventure & misfortune exposing the western world to a different type of cinema. One can only hope they don’t make a Hollywood remake in the future as this version is good as it is
